That's right, on top of the four amazing performers who have graced our stage before, we are excited to bring five all new, all fresh talent to perform at GLAM! and let me just tell you, this group of people is more fabulous then half the the diva's at a drag queen convention!
First up we have our token male comedian - the amah-zing John Hastings! Those who follow the comedy scene in the east end (Cabbagetown - I'm looking at you), you know John as one of the funniest comedians out there, and aren't we lucky that he is going to cross the tracks to come join us on the West End for a night of comedy at SuperMarket? Don't let his dreamy good looks through you off - this guy is funny and smart. Hastings delivers both punch and laughter when he is on stage, and we are excited to welcome him to the halls of the GLAMAZONS!
Join John, is the irreplaceable and often time referenced Sara Hennessey! Those who own a TV and have found themselves watching Video on Trail all Saturday afternoon, will recognize the faboo Sara in all her glory. Sara's comedy is both hilarious and unique....the first time I saw her live, had me spitting my drink out from laughter. She has opened for Maria Bamford & Honorary GLAMAZON Debra DiGiovanni, she has been on The Jon Dore Television Show and if that's not enough she is now starring in her own web series "Goodbye Sara Hennessey"! Sara - we cannot wait to welcome you to the GLAM! stage!
If that wasn't enough, sharing the stage with Sara and John is the musical stylings of the fabutan Alberta Darling! Alberta Darling is one of the most exciting groups around that also happens to be a string quintet! That's right there are five of them....playing string instruments! Guitars, cellos and violins unite for this Toronto based group that is sure to have you tapping your feet and cheering along for what can only be described as "string perfection".
You are probably asking yourself now....what else could we ask for? We have string quintets, comedians of both genders (who will make you pee your pants with laughter), and some fabulous returning GLAMAZONS....but that's not all...we still have two more AMAZING performers coming to GLAM! They are by definition - perfection in performance! Can you believe it!? So much talent and we aren't even done yet!
First up is the showgirl by definition, talent by profession - Kaitlin Lane! Kaitlin has been preforming across the country showcasing her talent when it comes to singing and entertaining. Those have seen her said she is the definition of GLAM! (Powerful, humourful and Glamourful) and we couldn't agree more. Always exciting, always styling! We are excited to have her perform on our stage.
Finally - and definitely not least is the magnificent Rachelle Elie! We first caught wind of Rachelle at Shelley' Marshall's Full Brawdy Comedy Show, where she rocked the show and her performance. But Rachelle has a long track record of being fabulous. Just spend five minutes browsing her website and you'll see the allocates just roll in. See Magazine, Eye Toronto, Montreal Gazette, all are proud to promote this amazingly talented woman who not only dominates but delivers an evening of hilarity and comedy! We couldn't be more thrilled to have her join us on June 5!
And there you have it...Quite possible the BEST GLAM! line up ever...We have something for everyone - pretty faces telling hilarious jokes & singing their hearts out! I can promise you won't regret the evening! And it's all for charity.
